Summit Electric Supply has hired Brian Terrell as its Director of Talent Management.
Terrell has employed his diverse background in sales and marketing to manage personnel development, succession planning, and training for various multinational organizations, quickly progressing into top leadership positions in Spain, Switzerland, and Venezuela.
“Summit is extremely fortunate to have a person of Brian’s caliber leading our talent strategy,” says Summit’s President and CEO Victor Jury Jr. “Bringing his successful sales, sales management and general management experience and international perspective to this role creates an exceptional potential impact for Summit’s associates and business. I am excited to work with Brian to continue our journey and grow our extraordinary team of smart, talented and motivated people.”
Terrell was recently the Chief Operating Officer for Burger Söhne AG in Burg, Switzerland where he directed the premium cigar maker’s operations in Spain, Italy, France, Asia, and the U.S. Previously, he led the strategic direction of Compañia Canariense de Tabacos SAU in Madrid, Spain, a Burger Söhne partner, as the company’s CEO. He was also Sales Director for Kraft Foods International in Caracas, Venezuela and led analysis and execution of sales and marketing plans.
Terrell’s strong international management experience and successful implementation of strategic processes contributed to increased growth and greater personnel development at each organization. In his new position with Summit, Terrell is focused on using his skills to build an even stronger organization.
“People development is what I enjoy most,” says Terrell. “When it comes to organizations, all the same rules apply (to large or small companies) for developing people and there’s great opportunity at Summit. As we recruit and prepare associates for future roles and growth, we’ll be creating a stronger, better trained, and more motivated team. We’re in an attractive industry with good career potential for talented people.”
