Four Michigan companies will receive more than $6.6 million in federal funding to develop advanced energy-efficient technology. Midland-based Dow Chemical Co. and the Dow Corning Corp. will receive more than $2.9 million and $1.24 million respectively. Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool Corp. will receive more than $2 million to increase the energy efficiency of refrigerators. West Olive-based Pleotint LLC will receive $402,547 to test variably tinted thermochromic windows.
