American Red Cross in New Mexico Receives $9,900 Donation

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- In keeping with its end-of-baseball-season tradition, Summit donated $9,900 to the American Red Cross in New Mexico, equaling $100 for every homerun hit during the regular season by the Isotopes, Albuquerque’s AAA team.

According to Cindy Adams, Regional CEO for the American Red Cross in New Mexico, the contribution will go to support the chapter’s programs and services, particularly for people who have lost their homes due to fires and floods - something that happens virtually everyday somewhere in the state.

“We know, as the economy declines, there is more need for our services,” Adams said. “The majority of our clients are underinsured or not insured at all, so when a fire or flood devastates their home, they lose everything.”

Summit supports the Red Cross both locally and nationally.

“It is a privilege to support the Red Cross, which does so much to serve our communities,” said Victor R. Jury Jr., Summit’s president and CEO. “The nature of their services are so broad and far reaching, it is hard to imagine a gift with more potential impact.”
