Courses are taught in our Phoenix service center using both instruction and interactive labs where you will practice actual programming exercises on training hardware.
Basic PLC knowledge only required. No prerequisites.
Who should attend? Anyone responsible for troubleshooting and/or programming PLC automation equipment, including instrumentation and control technicians, electrical technicians and engineers.

- Create Derived Function Blocks
- Practice Analog I/O setup and testing
- Learn to upload and import/export program
Quantum hardware is used for training labs. One Quantum hardware trainer, and one programming computer provided for use per two students.

Unity Pro XL Software Programming Level 1
3-day course / $1095 per person / Request More Information / Register for Course
- Confidently configure hardware and I/O setup,
- Understand and create variables and Function Block instances
- Create Derived Function Blocks
- Learn basic programming in FBD, LD, and SFC languages
- Practice programming, downloading and interacting with online program
- Create animation tables and operator screens.
M340 Hardware used during training course. One M340 hardware trainer, and one programming computer loaded with Unity Pro XL provided per two students.

Both courses are taught by Jeff Norris, Summit’s automation engineer, who has been in the industry since 1985. He has served as a process control engineer for FMI Morenci Copper Mine and as lead engineering manager with Tava Technologies on the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station’s plant information multiplexing system (PMUX) project. He joined Summit in 1999 as a recognized automation products expert, and began teaching automation programming software courses, primarily to Summit’s industrial customers, in 2000.
