This LEED certified office tower in Houston was designed around energy efficient products. Summit provided 100 percent of the switch gear and about 80 percent of the lighting used in the 17-story, 450,000-square-foot building.

 

Discovery Tower

Houston, TX

This premiere office development, standing 29 stories tall, was designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification.  The 845,000-square-foot edifice is served by a 10-story parking structure as well. Summit provided 100 percent of the light fixtures, switch gear and lighting controls for the building and parking structure, assembling a competitive package of energy-efficient materials that met site specifications. Discovery Tower is the new global headquarters for energy firm Hess Corporation, and is expected to be renamed Hess Tower.

 

One Central Park East

Phoenix, AZ

This $175 million, 26-story highrise stands at 383 feet in downtown Phoenix. This landmark commercial project offers 475,000 square feet of office space, 10,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor, and 600 parking spaces. Summit provided 100 percent of the lighting for this class A office tower that opened November 2009.

 

Albuquerque Studios

Albuquerque, NM

This $74 million, multi-building project comprises 500,000 square feet of film production space set on 28 acres. The campus includes eight sound stages and 83,500 square feet for production offices and backlot services. Specialty electrical considerations included a custom designed, campus-wide backbone infrastructure that originates in the centrally located data center and is distributed through underground conduits to 20 distribution rooms throughout the buildings. Voice, data, video and security to all buildings over an IP network required eight miles of fiber and 60 miles of copper cable, according to Enterprise Electrical Services Inc. that designed and installed the system, including 1,800 voice/data drops.

Summit was the lead provider of electrical switchgear for all of the buildings on the film production facility’s campus. The package included transformers, switch boards, outlets, occupancy sensors and more.

 

University of Phoenix Stadium

Glendale, AZ

Home to the Arizona Cardinals NFL team, this 63,400-seat stadium boasts unique design, engineering and technology. The stadium’s retractable roof and field, plus its ability to expand seating capacity to 72,200, make the stadium a multi-purpose facility that is unlike any other sports venue in North America. The stadium took three years to build (2003-2006).

Summit provided all lighting excluding the ball field area, or about 80 percent of the total lighting package, meeting the stadium’s unique required specifications for concourse, catwalk, office and other non-public areas of the structure.

 

The Pit, University of New Mexico Sports Arena

Albuquerque, NM

Built in 1966, this 18,081 person capacity sports arena underwent a comprehensive, $60 million expansion and renovation from 2009-2010. The project included adding 60,000 square feet of new space for 40 luxury suites, 300 club seats, new weight room, training room, and locker rooms for men’s and women’s teams. Renovations also included expanding the concourse, adding a Lettermen’s lounge, and increased technology for video boards, ribbon boards and digital signage throughout the arena.

Summit provided essential electrical products ranging from switchgear and receptacles to conduit and wire for this popular city landmark.
