SUMMIT ELECTRIC SUPPLY'S HISTORY

Our history is a true American success story of humble beginnings, hard work, innovation, Customer focus and dedication to excellence.

In August of 1977, Summit first opened for business in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There were two employees, a few manufacturers' lines and a dream of something much larger. Founders Victor Jury Sr. and David Meredith each came from long and successful careers in the electrical distribution industry. Victor Jury Jr., a true entrepreneur at heart, joined them in their venture.

This team envisioned breaking the mold and creating a new breed of electrical distributor. Their goal was very simple: Summit was committed to being the best electrical distributor in Albuquerque.

Today, 30 years later, we have 20 Service Centers throughout the Southwest and Gulf Coast plus an export division. There are more than 500 Associates. We are the 23rd largest electrical distributor in the nation.

• Summit opened in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on August 15, 1977. Today, Albuquerque is not only the oldest Service Center, it is also home to Summit's corporate headquarters.
• Farmington, New Mexico, opened in 1983.
• Dallas, Texas, opened in 1987.
• Fort Worth, Texas, opened in 1988.
• El Paso, Texas, opened in August of 1990.
• Phoenix, Arizona, opened in 1991.
• Santa Fe, New Mexico, opened in 1992.
• San Antonio, Texas, opened in 1994.
• Austin, Texas, opened in April of 2001.
• Killeen, Texas, opened in 2002.
• Houston, La Porte, Beaumont, Clute and Corpus Christi, Texas, as well as New Orleans, Broussard, and Gonzales, Louisiana, opened in December of 2002. The export division was opened at the same time.
• Summit announced plans to open Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida. Construction is underway with plans to open in early summer, 2007.
• Dubai, UAE, sales office opened in March of 2007.
