SUMMIT SUPPORTS CONTINUING EDUCATION
Training our Associates has always been one of Summit's strengths. Summit strongly believes in the importance of education and training. Summit's training budget is in excess of 10% of the total payroll.

As a part of Summit's Total Quality Process and ISO 9001:2000 Certifications, Summit has documented every major procedure in our company. This documentation is used to train new people, and as a reference when there is a question about the correct way to complete a procedure. Summit is one of the first ISO participants in the nation to store our ISO documentation electronically. Through the use of our computer, every Associate has immediate access to any procedure from any computer terminal.
Summit has an ongoing, aggressive, in-house training program which educates all Sales and Customer Service Representatives in product features and applications, electrical and electronic theory, new products, systems, Customer satisfaction and the Total Quality Process.
Summit Associates are also selected to attend off-site, multiple-day schools around the country sponsored and presented by our manufacturers and professional organizations.
Electrical Products Education Course. EPEC is a self-study course designed and administered by the Education and Research Foundation at the National Association of Electrical Distributors. The EPEC program covers the vast array of products stocked and sold by electrical distributors. This program, administered in three levels of study and testing (Bronze, Silver and Gold), provides the equivalent of 10 years' experience in the industry.
Summit strongly encourages all of its Sales Associates to make the EPEC commitment. By completing the EPEC courses, Summit Associates greatly increase their understanding and knowledge of the electrical industry.
According to the Education and Research Foundation, the EPEC program has about 700 EPEC Gold Graduates worldwide. As of October 2006, 132 Summit Associates have completed all three levels of the EPEC studies, accounting for about 20 percent of all Gold Level graduates around the world. This is quite an accomplishment considering that Summit Associates make up a tiny fraction of the total number of people employed by electrical distributors in the United States.
The EPEC program was started in 1986, and the very first Gold Level graduate was an Associate of Summit Electric Supply. Summit President & CEO Victor Jury Jr. was among the first five people to receive Gold Level status.
Summit Associates may receive tuition reimbursement for educational courses which are directly related to the Associate's career growth with Summit.
